This professional development experience immerses educators in movement-based learning through Salsa dancing to explore how structured movement builds student engagement, self-regulation, and a positive school experience. Participants will experience how intentional instruction in balance, rhythm, spatial awareness, and movement control can strengthen classroom culture, increase student belonging, and support standards-based outcomes. The session models instructional strategies aligned with the BCPS Theory of Action by emphasizing active engagement, culturally responsive practices, trauma-informed movement, and joyful participation. This PD experience will help educators create environments where students and staff feel safe, seen, and motivated to attend and participate every day.
